Terms of Service

By accessing or using ImprovedCV (“the Service”) at improvedcv.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service is operated by Joseph Tiago (ImprovedCV), Calle Reus 29, Spain.

If we make material changes to these Terms we will update the date above and, where we can, notify you by email or in the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.

ImprovedCV is an AI-powered job application toolkit. You can (a) provide your existing CV and a job description so our AI rewrites and tailors your resume for keyword alignment and ATS compatibility, producing a downloadable PDF; (b) generate a tailored cover letter; (c) generate practice interview questions with coaching tips; and (d) track job applications and keep your own notes.

The Service is an assistive tool, not a career advisory service. ImprovedCV does not guarantee employment outcomes, interview invitations, or any specific ATS score improvement. Results vary depending on the quality and completeness of the information you provide.

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. Accounts are for individual use only: you may not share, sell, or transfer your account. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity on your account.

• Free plan: Free of charge, with no card needed. Each rolling week it includes 3 CV tailorings, 3 cover letters and 3 interview preps, with the Classic and Minimal CV templates. The job tracker and the other templates are part of Pro. We may change what the Free plan includes.
• Pro plan: A subscription that removes the weekly limits and unlocks all CV templates. It is billed in advance, either monthly or every 3 months, in euros (EUR). Prices include VAT (IVA) where it applies, and the total is shown before you pay. Pro is subject to fair use: a monthly ceiling exists only to stop automated abuse and normal use will not reach it.
• 14-day free trial: New Pro subscribers can start with a 14-day free trial, once per account. A payment card is required to start. You are not charged during the trial. If you cancel before the trial ends, you pay nothing. If you do not cancel, your subscription starts when the trial ends and your card is charged automatically. We email you shortly before the trial ends.
• Automatic renewal: Pro renews automatically at the end of each billing period, and your card is charged the then-current price, until you cancel.
• How to cancel: You can cancel at any time in Account settings → Manage subscription. Cancellation stops future charges and you keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for.
• Price changes: We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before a price change applies to your renewals. You can cancel before it takes effect.
• Failed payments: If a payment fails, Pro is paused until the payment succeeds or you cancel.
• Existing credits: Credits bought or granted before plans were introduced stay in your account. They do not expire while your account is active, and are used once your weekly Free allowance is used up.
• Failed generations: If a generation fails because of a fault on our side, it does not count towards your allowance.
• Payments are processed by Stripe.

If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you normally have 14 days to cancel an online purchase. During the free trial you are not charged, so you can cancel without paying anything.

If you are charged for Pro, you can cancel and ask for a refund within 14 days of that charge by emailing infoimprovedcv@gmail.com. If you have not used Pro features since the charge, we will refund it in full. If you have, we will refund a proportionate amount for the part of the period you have not used. Pro starts immediately, and by subscribing you ask us to begin straight away.

Outside that period, payments already made for the current billing period are not refundable except where the law requires it or the Service was faulty. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights, including any right to a remedy if the Service is faulty or not as described.

You agree not to:

• Upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes third-party intellectual property rights.
• Use the Service to generate resumes on behalf of others commercially (for example as a resume writing business) without our written consent.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or circumvent any part of the Service, or its usage limits.
• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
• Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the Service.
• Create multiple accounts to get extra free allowances or extra free trials.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or data.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules.

You keep ownership of the content you submit (your resume, job descriptions, notes and so on). You give us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process it only to provide the Service to you.

To generate results, your content is sent to Anthropic's Claude API. We do not use your content to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Accuracy: Our AI is instructed not to invent experience, skills, or qualifications, but AI can make mistakes. You are responsible for reviewing every resume, cover letter and answer before you send or rely on it. ImprovedCV is not responsible for inaccuracies you do not correct.

The ImprovedCV brand, logo, website design, and software are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the Service without written permission. The resumes and letters generated from your content are yours to use freely.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. Subject to your statutory rights, we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will produce any particular result in your job search.

ATS scores shown are estimates generated by AI and do not represent scores from any specific employer's applicant tracking system. Interview questions are practice material and do not predict what an employer will ask.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your statutory consumer rights.

Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of profits or loss of employment opportunity. Our total liability to you for claims arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account in the Service. Deleting your account permanently removes your resumes, applications and notes, and cancels any Pro subscription straight away. Unused credits are lost when an account is deleted, and any refund you are entitled to under section 5 is still honoured.

We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these Terms. Where reasonable we will tell you why.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that country.
