Terms of Service

By accessing or using ImprovedCV ("the Service") at improvedcv.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

ImprovedCV is an AI-powered resume optimisation service. You provide your existing CV and a job description; our AI rewrites and tailors your resume to improve keyword alignment and ATS compatibility. The output is a downloadable PDF.

The Service is an assistive tool, not a career advisory service. ImprovedCV does not guarantee employment outcomes, interview invitations, or any specific ATS score improvement. Results vary depending on the quality and completeness of the information you provide.

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement. Accounts are for individual use only — you may not share, sell, or transfer your account to another person.

• Free credits: New accounts receive 3 free credits upon registration, valid immediately, with no expiry.
• Paid credits: Additional credits can be purchased through the Service. All purchases are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown in USD and are inclusive of any applicable taxes.
• Credit consumption: One credit is deducted per successful resume optimisation. Credits are deducted at the point of generation. If generation fails due to a system error on our side, the credit is refunded automatically.
• No expiry: Purchased credits do not expire and carry over indefinitely.
• No refunds: All credit purchases are final and non-refundable, except where required by applicable law or in cases of technical failure attributable solely to ImprovedCV.

You agree not to:

• Upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes third-party intellectual property rights.
• Use the Service to generate resumes on behalf of others commercially (e.g. as a resume writing business) without our written consent.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or circumvent any part of the Service.
• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
• Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the Service.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or data.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without notice or refund.

You retain ownership of the content you submit (your resume and job descriptions). By submitting content you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process it for the sole purpose of providing the Service.

Your content is transmitted to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the tailored resume. By using the Service you consent to this processing. We do not use your content to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your data.

Accuracy: Our AI is instructed not to fabricate experience, skills, or qualifications. However, you are responsible for reviewing the output before submitting it to any employer. ImprovedCV is not liable for any inaccuracies in the generated resume.

The ImprovedCV brand, logo, website design, and underlying software are owned by ImprovedCV and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission.

The tailored resume generated by the Service, based on your original content, is yours to use freely.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or produce any particular result in your job search.

ATS scores shown are estimates generated by AI and do not represent scores from any specific employer's actual ATS system.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ImprovedCV shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of employment opportunity, or loss of data arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for credits in the 30 days preceding the claim.

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at infoimprovedcv@gmail.com. Unused credits are forfeited upon account deletion and are non-refundable.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, with or without notice.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to binding arbitration or the courts of the jurisdiction in which ImprovedCV operates.
